Need help with controlling which pages to show

  • Everyone,

    As most folks know, when you create a page, it automatically by default creates a menu link to that page in the top menu/navigation bar. Right now, I am using the Pagemash plugin to help control only those pages that I wish to have appear in the menu bar.

    My problem is that I want to also use a Page widget to show some of the pages (that I do not want to show in the top menu bar) on the side. However, if choose to hide the pages using the Pagemash plugin to prevent the ones from the top menu from appearing, then I am also prevented from showing them on the side via a page widget.

    Is there a plugin I can use which will allow me to choose a set of pages to show in the menu bar, and a different set to show up in a sidebar? I have tried using the “WordPress Navigation List Plugin NAVT”, but I am getting errors.

    I am open to all ideas and suggestions.

  • Not a plugin but you can control what pages appear on your menu bar using the include, exclude, child_of, depth and.or exclude_tree parameters for wp_list_pages.
