Need help with adding extra posts to the side of the featured post

  • I know this may need a bit of changing of php code. I would like to have smaller featured posts just on the side of the main one Instead of having sidebar start at the top, I’d like to rather have two smaller posts on top of each other just beside the main one. And example is THIS ENVATO THEME

    If anyone can assist with what I need to do and where to change or add codes, would be appreciated.

    Lastly I’d like to have a advert placement at the header area just on the right side. Again whoever has solution to this, kindly reply. Appreciate it!

  • Hi memememememe.
    1. You would have to modify index.php to add the containers for the posts, and add the loop(s) to get the posts to display. In addition to that you would have to modify the normal and responsive css to move the sidebar down; not a trivial task. Personally, if that theme has the layout you want, and it’s that important, I’d recommend using that theme instead of Hueman.
    2. In Theme Options > Header you can activate the Header Ads. This will create a dynamic sidebar available in Widgets. Drop a widget in it and the sidebar will be displayed on the righthand side of the header UNLESS you have the header image option (in v2.2.3) enabled. In that case you’d have to customize header.php to display the sidebar.
