  • Hello Dizzit,

I’m sorry you’re having trouble moving your WordPress installation Dizzit. I would recommend checking a couple of things. First, make sure your WP_HOME and WP_SITEURL are set correctly to your domain name. Keep in mind that anything entered into the wp-config.php file overrides the database settings. Also, did you change hosts? If so, how long ago did you point your domain name to your new host? DNS can take 4-24 hours to propagate and you want to make sure you are viewing the correct site on the new server.

    I hope this information helps!

I re-pointed the site a week ago. First i was getting database problems but the i found out i needed to edit the config file. Once i did that and up loaded the old database to the never server i have my content. But i lost all the wordpress lay out. I cant even log in to the back end. Before i up loaded the database i had all my plugins and lay out but i dint have my content. Now i have the content but not the lay out…. Were would i check the WP_HOME and SITEURL are correct?

Hello Dizzit, sorry to hear you are having problems with wordpress. Sounds like you might have to reload the website again. If you have a backup of your site which I think you do, then just up load it again making sure that you don’t create the same errors as previously. This sometimes helps. I have in the past reloaded my site a few times because of database or plugin issues. Rather than spend time troubleshooting the issue I simply reload the site making sure that I don’t make the same mistakes and voila the problem is solved.

I agree with ChristiNi however since you re-pointed the site a week ago then it should have propagated already. Let me know if this helps and if you need more assistant, I will be glad to help you.

    Kind regards
