Need help getting tect to be visible on side menus!

  • Hi! I just installed Zombie Apocalypse and it looked pretty good right after installation. I really just need to know how to get text to be a different color so it is easier to read and shows up.     I just had my wife pull up the site and it looks fine to us… Not sure what’s going on. Can you take a screenshot?

    Anyway, the changes you want will require CSS changes – so install this plugin so you can make changes without losing them when the theme is updated –

    Then you can add CSS changes there.

    What text do you want to change? I’m not sure what isn’t visible.

    GEEZ. Now I don’t see a style sheet either! I don’t know why I can’t get themes to display correctly!

    Yeah, now it’s back to bad for me too :(. Where is your site hosted – intermittent problems might be a server issue? Try deactivating all plugins and switching to the default (twentytwelve theme).

    Hmm, well my hosting is with Hostable and the registrar is namecheap… Will try your suggestions.

    Check it now… Still doesn’t seem right.

    Nope it’s not – but it looks like you’ve copied a bunch of stuff from Word? That is never a good idea – it has code that’s incompatible with websites. So see if deleting that content helps.

    I type my stuff on Word first usually. Not sure about deleting all that… Its really frustrating that sometimes it works just fine and not others.

    Don’t use Word – a plain text editor is okay, or possibly Windows Live Writer if you want some kind of formatting – but Word is not compatible with websites and is known to cause problems.

    Whether these problems with your site are related, don’t know. Did you check with your hosting company?

    Quick question. Everything looks okay again. I don’t seem to have ALL my original pages saved as Word documents. Can I edit, copy and then paste the whole page post into the WordPress word to text text editor? Sorry, this will be new to me and I’m trying to find the easiest way to make sure my posts and pages show up correctly according to my theme.

    HELP! Really need to know what is my fastest option for trying to fix this.

    Can I use the “paste word” option if I am just cutting and pasting from the pages already on my site?

    Or do I need to put the text into something else first and then update the pages?

    You can try that, though if you run into problems, you may need to copy into a plain text editor, save as plain (unformatted text) and then copy to your site.

    Okay, I downloaded Windows Live Writer and am trying editing and then re-publishing my pages through it. ran into one snag so far though..

    This page is forcing your browser to use legacy mode, which is not compatible with Disqus. Please see our troubleshooting guide to get more information about this error.

    Any ideas how to fix this? The troubleshooting guide was pretty vague..
