No, please understand my problem. I am using the Marketer Theme for my website. I was wondering what is the ideal size for featured images so that I can edit them before uploading.

Like before I used the Schema Theme where the recommended featured image dimension was 680x350px for the better result. I have also attached the screenshot you can see so I want to know that what is the recommended dimension of the featured image in Marketer Theme.

The originator of marketor theme https://woorkup.com/ uses 300×150. But it depends on the width of your container (in case you decide to expand it). Also, when the mobile size kicks in (768px) the small images do not fit the screen perfectly and they are centred. I would suggest 768×402 as a good compromise between size and aesthetics, but be sure to test this size on speed tests to ensure it also works for mobile in terms of size.

Also, the 768 one produces the serve scaled image error because marketer seems to resize images using CSS. Maybe try to regenerate thumbnails? Hope the GP team gives you a better solution if this does not work.

You should upload images that meet the maximum size they are to be displayed at.
For your post featured images the largest image size would be required when viewing your archives on Portrait Tablet.

The viewport width is 768px, minus 30px of left and right padding gives you a container of 708px which would be the largest size you require.

I asked you a very simple question what is the best size for the featured image in the Marketer Theme but you have given a very complicated answer.
Someone suggested to me that a 700x400px size featured image looks good and does not cause Serve Scaled Images issue in the Marketer Theme. Is that, right?

I was explaining that the largest size image you require is 708px wide this would be for the Featured Image when displayed on a Tablet device in portrait view.

So original image should be 708px wide, the height is up to you, although it would be best to keep them all the same size.

I would suggest 708px x 400px.
700px x 400px would also be fine but the image won’t quite fill the container on portrait tablet.

To fix serve scaled image you will need to set your Media attachment sizes in Dashboard > Settings > Media.

You’re large image can be 420px ( to cover Plus size mobiles)
Medium 300px to cover your desktop blog images.

Once done you will need to use the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin to fix your current images.

Hello David, I have scaled the images to 700px x 400px but GTmetrix still said that I need to scale the images. So I deleted those images and upload new featured images with 700px x 400px, but still, my problem is not solved so I activate Twenty Twenty and Schema themes and the problem is resolved. This means that this problem is in the GeneratePress theme and I am not facing this problem in my old themes, I am getting frustrated so please help me to fix this problem.

Did you run the regenerate thumbnails?
The first three posts are only loading the largest image size.
The remaining posts still have the original and the various thumbnails sizes.

Your images are 700×400, so that’s good.

GT Metrix is telling you that because the images are displaying at 300 x 171 on desktop. This actually isn’t an issue as long as your images are optimized. You can resize your images to 300 x 171 if you want, but they won’t fill the entire width of the post on mobile/tablet.

As long as your images are optimized, I would personally ignore GT Metrix on this one.
