I preface this by saying that while I understand the basics of WP, I am not a coder. So please respond to me as if I don’t understand anything. ??

I need to change some line spacing and margins in a template. I understand that I cannot (or should not) edit the original template. I know I can copy and paste those parts I want to change into the custom.css file for this template (though I do not know how I can apply it to the page I’m editing and only that page – explanation would be great).

I have been attempting to look for the margins and line spacing code, but honestly – I have no idea where to even begin. I’d love some assistance so I don’t waste several hours browsing the entire file. Thanks!

Are you using a browser tool such as Firebug to work with the CSS? That’s how you find the relevant CSS code. To target a specific page, you can use a page-specific id or class – typically found in the body tag.

Without a link to your site, no way to be of much more help.

No, I don’t use Firebug. I don’t use Firefox. I’m NOT a coder. I don’t normally do this. However this should be so difficult. All I want to do is adjust some spacing and the margins.

That link to the chrome stuff is great – but I don’t know what to do with it. The theme is Woo Canvas, if that makes any difference.

You will need to learn basic CSS if you want to change anything in your site that is not a theme option :). That’s the only way to make those kinds of changes.

And yes, that’s a commercial theme, so you should be asking WooThemes for help – it’s part of what you paid for and these forums don’t support commercial themes.

If you just need CSS help, you could ask on a CSS forum such as https://csscreator.com
