Need Help diagnosing inaccessible page

I installed a new theme and tidied up an old problem with page names. I had a long name for a page and used a Redirection to allow people to type in https://seeleyjames.com/books. During the upgrade, I created a new page that is https://seeleyjames.com/books and deleted the redirect.
The page is no longer accessible. I can edit it from my dashboard, but I cannot navigate to it as https://seeleyjames.com/books. It simply brings up the home page instead.
After wandering through the dashboard for hours, I’m turning to this forum for HELP! before I tear my hair out.

Thanks for your help. I’m not finding my .htaccess (I’m something of an amateur). All I find is one under public_html with only four lines in it, none of them redirects. Is Redirection the most likely suspect? I would think it would lead to a 404 and not back to the home page.
