    Hi everyone —

I am using a free template that came with pre-installed sidebar widgets. I thought I would play around with it to see what else I could add. I’m still new to WordPress so I didn’t know that apparently I can’t just click the widgets to add in the ‘design’ part of WP.

I added the “Tag Cloud” widget thinking that it would just place itself under the others already there (calendar, categories, blog roll, archive, etc), but it actually just erased everything else that was there and now the only thing on my sidebar is the Tag Cloud.

I tried to look for a ‘deactivate’ or ‘remove’ in the Design part but I can’t seem to find it. I clicked ‘edit’ but all it lets me do is rename the box.

    Can someone help?

As a point of reference, my site is https://www.presentcompanyincluded.com

Themes don’t come with “pre-installed” widgets, they come with a set of sidebars that are sorta like the default ones. Those show up when you have no widgets. When you add widgets, you override those and create your own sidebars.

So what you really need to do is to recreate those sidebars you saw before using widgets. Or create your own sidebars.

However, to remove a widget, first click the edit button, then click the remove button at the bottom of that editing box. Then click the big Save Changes button.
