need help customizing my front page

hi!
this is a theme I installed
this is my page (still in the making)

i’m new to all this and would really appreciate some simple language help. i’d like to:

1.remove home tab from header (logo links to frontpage so it is redundant)
2.remove the bottom “blog” part from the front page (where you can see the last post), and link to it from the middle left column also called “blog” – that would basically leave the logo and the header (with pages tabs) in one row, three columns in a second and search, archive etc. would go to the third row at the bottom
3. remove comment options from my pages, but keep it at blog posts

is this possible to do?

I am also having a problem: when i click at the last post in the front page – i get a page not found message…
