need gallery help

    i am trying to create a contest on my website that will enable people to upload family pictures and have them voted on. the winner is the family with the most points/votes.

    what i need is a SIMPLE gallery that can do several important things: #1 being people need to be able to upload their own pictures (and i need admin capabilities to keep it from going live before i approve them…i’ve been hit by the porn spam pervs before!)
    #2 is that i need visitors to be able to either vote on images individually (i’m pretty sure i did this before with coppermine, before i switched to wordpress) or simply the ability to leave a comment on individual pics (which i will count as a vote). either way is fine.

    so i’m going around and around…the only galleries i can find for wordpress that have rating systems are not what i need (they are stars or 1-10 ratings, and i don’t need levels of ratings, just a vote per pic)…i’ve used coppermine before and done this sort of a contest with it, but so far i’m not finding info i can use on how to integrate coppermine with wordpress. seems to be clunky, everything i’ve found so far and i’m not at all knowledgeable enough to understand much of what i’m reading. i need layman’s terms. ??

    so can anyone help steer me in a direction of something that can do all of the above and is simple for someone like me to understand and use?

    ok i’m giving up on finding what i want with user upload. i’ll upload the images myself. but i NEED to have comments on each and every photo since i’ll be using that for the voting.

    can anyone help please? just a simple gallery that allows for comments for each photo? why oh why am i having some a dickens of a time finding something like this? the only things i’m finding either don’t work or are too complicated for me to figure out!!

    very frustrated over here and i had wanted to launch this contest today, but i’ve spent the entire weekend (at least many hours of it), just trying to figure out a gallery that would work for this. i thought for sure this was something that would be easy to find!

    i need help, please! ??
