    I don’t have too much experience with the WordPress Export/Import tools, but I know they have several shortcomings that have inspired many other plugins to copy content from one site to another.

    I believe that one such shortcoming is that the tools do not copy Media Library items from one site to another; that must be done manually. When that’s done, all of the references to items must also be changed to reflect the new item URLs.

    I am guessing that the <img> and/or <a> tags in your posts/pages still contain the URLs of the original site from which they were taken; is that right?

    MLA will look in post/page content to see if they reference Media library items, but there are no MLA features that modify post/page content in any way. I regret that MLA does not have any features that will help you solve your export/import problem.

    The best solution would be to start over and use one of the many “site copy” plugins to migrate your content. I regret the news is not better, but I am marking this topic resolved simply because I have answered your question as best I can. I hope you can find a solution without too much additional pain.
