Thank you for building such an awesome plugin, it is very needed!

However, the scans are getting bogged down by inadvertently scanning all our huge backup files, so much so, that it brings our server to it’s knees – making the plugin is pretty useless, unfortunately.

Would you be so kind as add in code allowing one to blacklist or exempt certain file extensions from being scanned? Then we and many others facing a similar situation, could use it.

(Or if anyone knows what code I could drop into this plugin to make this happen, I’d be eternally grateful. ??

    Thanks!

    Hiya,

Glad to hear you’re finding it useful, and sorry to hear you are hitting some blocks with certain files.

What kind of files are your backups that are causing problems? By default the plugin should be skip any files with the following extensions:

    • rar
    • 7z
    • zip
    • tar
    • gz

Thanks so much for your quick reply! It is still searching through zip files, I can show you a screenshot where it is hung up on one now, if you like…

I wonder if it could be a case sensitivity issue, what is the exact filename it is searching (if you don’t mind sharing that)?

Ran another scan to find out. Here’s one it is stuck on now…

Also, I should mention, there are a ton of mp3 files on the site, as well.

Not just this one, it is also trying to scan a file named “uploads.zip”

    Any word on this issue?

    Hi,

I’ve not had a chance to look at it as I’ve been on (a much needed) vacation, it’s on my list of things to check up on throughout the week though, and I’ll let you know once I’ve looked into it!

I’ve made some changes in the new 2.2.0 version which hopefully solves the archived file issues you’ve been having.

I’ve tested with various backups created by backup plugins that store compressed files and everything seems to be running fine, but please do let me know if you encounter any other issues.
