    The URL-picture above describes what it is that I want. I want, instead of posts, to have pictures which refers to threads by clicking on them. Is this possible with the meta slider plugin?

    Something similar is possible with Metaslider, the carousel mode:

    As this relates specifically to Meta Slider it might be worth heading over to it’s forum and asking the same question there – someone might have achieved the same thing and will be able to point you in the right direction:
