Need Amazon Book Cover Images for “Now Reading…” Display

  • I want to build one of those little “Now Reading…” gizmos that populate so many sidebars. I’m an Amazon Associate and don’t like any of the little widgets they offer, and none of the several plugins I’ve tried are satisfactory.

    I’ll probably write a little table with image links to 4 to 6 books at Amazon. But I don’t know where to find the images. How’s that work?

    I’ve seen a few sites that do this by linking to a secure (https) Amazon serve. Is that legit?

  • You can download any image to your own computer (and then you can upload to your own webserver) by rightclicking on the image in your browser and selecting the Save option. If you use a Mac its <CONTROL> + click to do the equivalent of a right click.

    All the images Amazon displays in their widgets are hosted on their server – I assume its just fine for you to do the same.
