Need Advice/Help for creating "Professional Forum"

Hi Guys,

I’m sorry if you read this on a nother board, I’m just trying to reach anyone who might be able to help me. I’m trying to create a site that essentially operates as a “professional forum.” What I mean by that is the front page will have a list of scrolling topics and if you click on one it will bring you to a paragraph written by one of the site’s writers. Then, below it, will be responses from other writers on the site. I don’t want the responses to look like a standard comment section I want it to look essentially like another post nested below the orignal. Then you could go back to the main page, click on another topic and read the post and all the ones nested below that one. Does anyone one know of a plugin or have advice on how to do this with wordpress? Am I in over my head? Thanks for anything you can throw my way, I appreciate it.
