Need advice to build repository of data that is searchable

I’m trying to build something using WordPress and I need some advice. I’m not sure if I’m overthinking this or underthinking! I want to list every Packers football game played. Each Game will be the child of a parent Season. (So each Season will have many children.) Every game will include some details, like who they played against, if they won or lost, who the quarterback was that game, as well as a synopsis of the game. These fields (with the exception of the synopsis) need to be sortable and filterable. I was thinking I could use Posts for the Seasons, and display the games on the post using Advanced Custom Fields. But this just isn’t making sense to me how to go any further. Does anyone have any advice or maybe a plugin or two that would help me out? Thanks!!
