• WP Newbie here.

There are seemingly dozens of number animation plugins out there (I need a dollar amount to dramatically count up). What I can’t find though is a plugin that accepts another shortcode as an input. Every single one I’ve found only accepts a manual input.

It’s an impossible problem to Google as “wordpress plugin number animation accepts shortcode” just returns all the plugins that use a shortcode for output, not the input number.

Anyone know of one? Thanks very much.

  • Hi @brettttrent. First of all, where do you need to use this plugin? Are you using a theme editor (Gutenberg, Elementor, WP Bakery and so on)? Are you using the simple WP text editor? Are you writing your code in PHP?

Normally these kind of plugins make use of shortcodes to print their output so, if i’m not wrong, you’re looking for a shortcode inside a shortcode?

    Thanks for the reply.

I’m using a theme (Iceberg) that we bought off Envato, and we do have a plug-in called “Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg” but I’m not sure that answers your question.

Our current counter animator is a plugin “Counter Number Showcase” but it will ony accept a manually entered number as input. I need it to accept a variable, specifically the dollar amount of our total donations, which is available as a shortcode from our donations plugin.

I’m not writing any code, except some light CSS and mods to existing PHP (I haven’t coded in years)

I appreciate you trying to help.
