Need a good Directory Plugin

I have a specific plugin need that nothing seems to scratch.

I want to be able to add members of my charitable networking group as subscribers without letting them add themselves, and for their profiles to have lots of customizable information (names, addresses, phone numbers, business information etc.). Then I need an option where they can search for each other by different parameters.

It doesn’t seem like it should be so complex or rare, but everything I’ve tried comes with a bunch of problems… I can’t get it to work, it won’t let me add fields to member profiles, it will only search by name or is specifically business oriented etc.

And finally, I can’t pay for it (there’s the kicker!) Does anyone know the plugin I need?
