• Hi there,

    I searched in the forum about my question and i didn’t found anything so here i am opening a new topic.

    I recently moved from a blog in wordpress.com for a wordpress blog hosted in my own webhosting (well, I paied for the host, of course).

    The thing is that in my blog at wordpress.com i used the theme Neat! by Topi Peltonen and now that i moved my blog i cannot find anywhere the theme for download.
    The site of the author is not working properly.

    I was wondering if anyone here have the theme or know where i can download it. (I really wanted to keep the old theme)

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Michael, but the Neat! theme i am talkin is not that one. Is the one that is given to choose in a blog hosted in wordpress.com

    for example https://rumblepack.wordpress.com . This is the theme that i am looking for to install on my wordpress blog but hosted in other place.

    I spend all day searching and i found nothing, but maybe someone here have it in their PC. I really did want to keep my existing theme that i use now on my blog >.<

    Thanks in advance!

    I’m having the same problem finding the Neat! Theme. I just used it 30 days ago on a blog, and now I can’t find it. The archive that bachterman listed above doesn’t work. (I FTP-ed it and it was missing some vital information.) I also looked through the first 30 pages of the “most popular” in the Themes Directory. When I search “Neat”, I get only three returns, and none are it. When I search the actual title, “Neat!” (with the exclamation point), I get no returns at all.

    I’m trying to move the blog to my new domain, but the theme did not transfer.

    Any ideas?

    If you have a SVN client you can get it from the WordPress SVN repository.

    https://svn.automattic.com/wpcom-themes/

    If you don’t know what that is or how it works let me know and I’ll checkout a copy for you.

    Thanks for writing back. No, I don’t know what an SVN client is. Any help you can give me would be most appreciated!

    @springcleaning

    I did a checkout for you and uploaded a copy (minus the hidden SVN directory) to my server. You can download it here. Let me know when you’ve done so if you could. I won’t take the package down until then.

    Hey, LenK—it’s springcleaning (logged in under another login).

    thanks for uploading it. I just downloaded it to my desktop.

    I made the assumption that I should upload it to my themes file, but that doesn’t work. Can you tell me what to do next?

    Thanks!

    Jack

    PS. How hard would it be for somebody just to put Neat! back in the theme directory so that we wouldn’t have to go through all this? I sent an email to Topi at the website listed in some post somewhere, but haven’t heard back.

    This might be an obvious question but did you unzip it first? I just tested the package on a local install in addition to my own blog and it worked fine in both instances.

    No sweat about the “obvious question”. No, I had not thought to unzip it, however, it appears that this is not an option. On my desktop, I right clicked the file (neat.7z) and “Open with WinZip” is not an option as with other files that I know to be zipped files.

    My options are to zip it, to add it to a zipped file, or to zip and email it, but not to unzip it.

    What am I missing, greenhorn that I am?

    Jack

    I use an open source file compressor called 7-Zip. I’m not sure if WinZip will work with that as I don’t use it.

    Thanks. I’ll check into that. Meanwhile, I note that when I doubleclick on the neat.7z file that I’ve uploaded into my content/themes folder, it tells me that it’s a GIF.

    Should this be so?

    Jack

    The only gifs are in the theme’s image folder.

    LenK,
    I downloaded 7-zip and successfully unzipped the neat.7z file. I uploaded the contents to my content/themes file then visited my appearance/themes page. I did NOT see “Neat” amongst the available themes. I then went to the Themes Directory and snagged another theme to see if it would work and it did.

    I note that my content/themes page on my dashboard still says:
    ====Broken Themes

    The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
    Name Description
    Stylesheet is missing.====

    This appears after I extract the neat.7z file in my content/themes folder. If I do not extract it, the message above doesn’t show. In neither case, however, does the Neat! Theme show on my appearances/themes page as an available theme.

    Any ideas?

    Jack
