nb28022004: drafts and advanced editing bug

  • 1) press write
    2) press advanced editing without typing anything
    3) leave write screen (e.g. press edit)
    a draft of your “empty” post has been created
    “Your Drafts: Post #3, Post #6, Post #7, Post #8, Post #9, Post #10.”
    etc.
    you don’t need to press “save draft”, pressing “advanced editing” has the same effect, however maybe it should not save empty “drafts”

  • happened to me too.
    i selected advanced mode to work as default coz i use post slug almost all the time i post! ??

    it comes whenever we change to advanced…
    and it comes again the post with delay… when i post something, i have a moment when i can’t see the result in front page… i have to go back in the post and edit it… only when i edit it’s displayed…

    I fail to see how this is a bug. To me, advanced editing would require more resources, one of them being a saved post to work off. How does this effect WP’s performance? I think this is one of those problems that really doesn’t hurt much, yet would take many hours to fix (which would increase the chance of new bugs).

    i don’t think this needs a lot of effort to fix since the only check you need to make is for empty text fields
    if you press “advanced edit button” and all fields are empty then do not save a draft. that’s about all there is to it.
    either “case” or “if” will work.
