• We recently installed this theme on our site, and there are a lot of things we like about it. However, the search icon and drop down arrow icon for submenus that are supposed to be showing on the navigation menu are not displaying correctly (though the plus sign toggle for submenus on the mobile menu is displaying fine). Looks like they are supposed to be Font Awesome icons. Can anyone help us get them working?

  • Hello @syzygist
Would you please check once by deactivating the installed plugins and check it?
Sometimes, this type of issues arise because of the plugin conflicts.

    Thank you

I deactivated all of the plugins. It did not correct the issue. I suspect it has something to do with the Font Awesome library loading, but that is not something I understand very well, so I don’t know how to troubleshoot it.

I installed the FontAwesome plugin, and now the navigation menu icons are showing. However, icons that were part of the admin in my gallery plugin were also not showing, and the FontAwesome plugin only restored some, but not all of them. I ran the troubleshooting scanner in the Font Awesome plugin, and the only conflict it found was in this Newsever theme file:

    https://www.thelaughingheart.org/wp-content/themes/newsever/assets/font-awesome/css/font-awesome.min.css?ver=5.5

Should that be 5.5, the current version of WordPress, or should it be 5.14.0, the latest version of Font Awesome?

    Hello,
We will check the issues and get back to you.

    Thank you

    Any progress on this?

We checked from our end and there is no such issues found. So, we believe that this issues is the reason of plugin conflicts.
When we figure out the issues, we will get back to you.

    Thank you

As I said above, I deactivated all plugins, and the problem remained, so I don’t see how it could be a plugin conflict.
