    Site: WebSekkei
Description: I have started to *try* and create a WordPress theme for my site. I have never used WordPress before – and I am quite new to HTML/CSS/PHP. The issue I am facing is as title; when I reduce the size of the browser ie iPhone, or merely dragging the desktop browser window width as small as possible, the navigation menu disappears and is replace by text “Menu”. This text is clickable and the menu returns however it is now ajar. Has anyone come across anything like this before, and aware of any resolution?

Edit: The website looks rubbish – I know! That’s a problem for another time ??

As you’re using a Custom theme, we cannot know your website’s functionality. Here’s a general suggestion: Try disabling plugins to find out whether any are responsible.

Thanks for the quick response. I have disabled all plugins to no success – the issue persists.

I should have mentioned I am using a child theme of the template generated from Underscores.me I haven’t made many modifications except for my own style.css

    I hope this information helps

That’s how that theme behaves. When you resize the browser smaller significantly, the menu disapppears and is replaced with a button named, ‘Menu’. You can view your menu by clicking on that button.

If you don’t want the functionality provided by Underscores, I would suggest switching to a more complete theme, such as themes from www.remarpro.com.

Yeah, I can see now that there is a small-site.js that toggles between main-navigation and main-small-navigation. I’m assuming I could just apply CSS to main-small-navigation and have it appear how I want?

Is there a way of adding to this .js without modifying the parent script? ie would it be possible to do this in the child theme such as possible through style.css for example.
