Navigation Block Description not showing if has submenu

  • When the nav item has a description the HTML output is:

    However if the item has a submenu the description does not render:

    It appears that your theme is custom-made.

    Could you provide the PHP code related to the navigation items?

    Additionally, if you use an official theme, such as Twenty Twenty-Two, do you encounter the same issue?

    Yes I can confirm with the default theme the description doesn’t show in the HTML when the page has a submenu. You can the last li has a link and a submenu but when I add a description to the li it doesn’t appear in the HTML while the others that have no submenu have a span with wp-block-navigation-item__label and wp-block-navigation__description

    I tested the menu name description, and it displays correctly when there is a dropdown menu, as shown in the following link:

    I suggest using the official theme, then re-editing the navigation menu and updating it to try again.

    In your example Hank there is no .wp-block-navigation-item__description in your menu. Have you added a description to any of your menu items?

    It seems that not all themes display the Menu Description. I switched the theme to Twenty Fifteen, and now the Menu Description is displayed correctly.

    You can try using Twenty Fifteen to check if the Menu Description displays properly.
