I’m experimenting a bit with Pages which includes using the Settings for Reading to set a static home page. However, this seems to create the so called “deadly embrace”. In that, when you come to the static home page you become stuck there. In that, there is no way to navigate away from it.

Is there some trick to showing the normal Posts page when it has not yet been displayed in the browser?

I’ve never come across this phrase before. There’s no “trick” involved other than following the instructions in creating a static front page. Perhaps the fault lies in your them or one of your plugins. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

It looks like my dilemma is solved by the Posts-page in Settings>Reading, for which I had failed to grasp the purpose. The purpose seems to be the trick I was looking for.

    Many Thanks!!!
