I was building a static WordPress based website, which has about 40 pages and each of them is named with 10-30 characters. Could this be a reason of a bug?
And I’m editing it on a hosting, not on my local computer.

I’m having a headache for already 2 weeks now and I’m blocked with this issue! I can’t run my site anymore. What do I do? Should I just move my website to Joomla?

This bug still exists for a year already!!

If you have some real advice, please post the steps directly here, not by a link, because links can stop working after a while.

  • Hi there,

I’m having the same issue, I have a fairly complex menu with several levels and for a while now the nav-menus admin page just won’t let me add new menu items, it just hangs when saving. I really only need to add 1 new menu item so if there is a work around this to just enter it in the database and not use the nav-menus page at all it would be greatly appreciated.

On a side note, this is supposed to be a help forum and this issue has been consistently ignored for months. It’s a bug guys! where is the development team? do you really care so little about your software? If you refuse to fix it at least you should give workarounds to the affected end users don’t you think?

Yep. What can I say: Word Press sucks big time in this situation. I don’t use it anymore. RIP WP.

    Hi All,

I’m having the same issue and have noticed that there has been no resolution. I just thought I’d check back to see if anyone had figured out a work around?

I have an extensive navigation menu based on all the regions and countries in the world. When I try to save the menu it hangs and then gives me an error message. I can’t go back and make any changes to the menu as it won’t update?

I tried removing the following code (line 484 and 485) from the nav-menus.php file as I saw it in another post, but it didn’t work?

    <input type=”hidden” name=”menu” id=”nav-menu-meta-object-id” value=”<?php echo esc_attr( $nav_menu_selected_id ); ?>” />
    <input type=”hidden” name=”action” value=”add-menu-item” />

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Adam

    Hi to all,
I’ve got the same problem: the admin menu page (nav-menus.php) is loading for few minutes and don’t respond.

Did you find a workaround since then ?

I thank you so much in advance, it’s gonna make me crazy…
