The arrows for the slider and submenu navigation, as well as the search icon are not appearing for me in Chrome, however they appear to work fine in IE. Instead I get these empty square boxes where the arrow icon should be and an “fl” where the search icon ought to be. Any ideas on what might be causing this problem? I have the most updated form of Chrome.

Do you have a widget plugin installed?

I have the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle installed, that and Black Studio TinyMCE widget

Try deactivating the SiteOrigin Widgets once

    Already did no luck

OK, that was my guess because it uses FontAwesome and thought it might be conflicting.

I downloaded the theme and it looks OK on all my browsers.

    Maybe try re-installing the theme.

Done. Unfortunately hasn’t resolved the issue :/

I really enjoy the layout of this theme and would like to use it. I just can’t seem to figure out what has caused this issue. Also, probably an easier fix or maybe related, the default slider image for whatever reason has re-sized itself and is no longer the width of the screen.

By the looks of it the developer responds to support so hopefully they’ll jump in with possible solution, or someone more skilled then me.

    Hi @corey21

Great to hear from you, thanks for giving Ultra a try. @erik, thanks for jumping in here, appreciate it.

Thanks for the wait. The problem you’re seeing is unfortunately a challenge with all themes using font based icons. One of the problems we often see is cross domain loading issues, that’s not happening here. What’s happening here is the server is responding with a 404 error in response to the request for the necessary files.

My recommendation would be to get in touch with your hosting company, explain the error I’ve mentioned above and kindly ask if they can make those files available to your WordPress installation. This method has worked in the past to resolve this same problem.

I’m working hard on Ultra at the moment. Lots of little fixes and additions. I’ll have 0.9.4 released ASAP.

Let me know how you do with this. If you need help with anything else, let me know.

With regards to the demo slider. You can set that to stretch from Appearance > Theme Settings > Home > Stretch Slider. To insert your own, install the Meta Slider plugin, create a slider, it will then be available to choose from the home page slider drop down in theme settings. Documentation for this coming ASAP!

Thanks for the help Erik and Misplon.

I’m in touch with hosting company now and they are working on it. In reference to the slider, the stretch is already set to on, which is part of my confusion.

EDIT: Scratch the slider problem its working now though idk what was the fix.

Super, glad to hear you’re making progress. Hopefully your hosts will be able to allow access to those files. My understanding is that preventing access fits into hosts larger security strategy. So it’s all based on good intentions, we just need this little bit of leeway.

Let us know how you come along.
