• Hi,

We have ran into a problem with the IndexNow setting enabled when doing edits to a number of menu items. Such as renaming about 20 menu entries can take 90 seconds or longer vs 10 seconds with it disabled. WP is basically idle while waiting for tons of IndexNow API calls to complete. Sometimes this will cause the edit to time out. While we can increase the time out settings even higher, I don’t think the risk can be fully mitigated if the IndexNow API is having trouble. Is there any way to defer the IndexNow changes to a future wp_cron task so that the nav menu changes doesn’t block on them? It would also help improve those working on the site as they’re not waiting for 2+ minutes for the changes to complete.

    Thanks!

    Hal

Hi Hal, yes that’s possible. I’m curious, how many pages are in your site and are there any errors in your error log?
