Native WP galery > images are no longer clickable

    Hello Guys,

    we use WP native image galery block in an up to date WP version in a lot of posts. We have several WP installations, with several plugins configurations, on different servers.

    Since the 6.7 update, on all of our WP’s, we cannot setup a galery with clickable images. The config is not displayed anymore.

    Is there a fix please ?

    If you wants the clickable images, when clicked, opens the?medium-sized image?in a?popup. You can install the “Simple Lightbox” plugin.

    Simple Lightbox: Simple and easy to use. It will automatically enable lightbox functionality for all images on your site, but you can configure it to trigger on specific images (like a thumbnail). After activation, the plugin should work automatically on all images.

    thank you for this reply. I will test Simple lightbox in order to see if it does what the native galery block was able to do (especially carousel mode).

    The point is that we try to avoid plugins if possible, and native galery was cool for that as we do not need special features.

    Do you know if, as it seems to be, this functionnality has been abandonned in the core of WP blocks ?

    Yes, certain features like clickable images with a lightbox or carousel view were included in the gallery block, but those features have been moved out of the core and often require additional plugins or JavaScript to implement.

    We did not see it coming.We will then install a new plugin.
