My understanding from searching on the issue, is that to create drop-down functionality in a WordPress Nav menu, you simply need to make a page(s) a child of another page found in the navigation menu. I have done that at https://joedoylesongs.com/, making two pages children of “The Song’s Stories” page, but no drop-down functionality appears upon hovering over that menu item, not does the sub-menu show upon inspecting the page code.
Under appearance/menus, the pages show as children of the “The Song’s Stories” page.
    Am I missing a step?

  • If navigation menu is defined, you would have to manually add those pages from the menu manager. Or you can try to find a plugin that will automatically generate the drop down main menu from the pages.

Found a link to a vid on Youtube. No where in my searching did it explain you can just add the items, then drag a bit to the right to make them sub-menu items. Who knew?
    Thanks for the tip.

Glad it’s solved. Everything is in Youtube nowadays ??

    Have a nice day!
