Native Gallery Update and Media setting

  • I think the native gallery can be much better, with integration of jetpack carousel in the core wordpress and one better setting in Media.

    So you can select in Media setting, Rectangular, Square, Tiled, Slideshow, and the use of lightbox carousel.

    Today media is very important for the look website and the standard galley is older, and the plugins no are so good and no run with the native gallery.

    I have managed to create those galleries (and more) which use the core WordPress gallery and some manual shortcode tweaks, like adding type=”carousel” and the like. They also have custom image sizes to help load the lightest possible image.

    Those galleries belong to a private theme of mine, but I am slowly releasing its features as public plugins. While all those galleries I post are fully responsive (thanks to Bootstrap), I’m not sure about the best way of making them responsive out of my private theme.

    Will think about it!

    Solo quiero en media poder cambiar de carousel a Slideshow todas mis galerias con un solo click, con un plugin o por default en el core de wordpress. Pienso que la galería original de wordpress se podría mejorar y agregar lo que ofrece jetpack (yo tengo carousel gallery without jetpack)
    También estaría bueno, poder hacer click en la foto del slider y que aparezca en un lightbox más grande.

    Pero mis conocimientos de programación y wordpress son limitados.
    A lo mejor puedas crear algo con esos plugins y mejorarlos.
