• Hi! I have some older posts where I used the native WP gallery with shortcode [gallery columns="4" ids="4327,4328,4329,4330"]. When I click on those images, they are not opening in lightbox, it opens the image address instead. Other images are working, but not these ones. Have any idea why?
    Thank you!

Sorry, can’t say without a URL for your old posts (where it is not working) and new posts (where it is working).

I just realized that Photonic doesn’t create lightbox effect for native galleries, only for images, if I check the Photonic Lightbox for non-Photonic Images option. So I decided to use another plugin, Simple Lightobx. I unchecked the Photonic Lightbox for non-Photonic Images option because I had a double lightbox effect from both plugins. So now, I would like Photonic plugin to create lighbox effect only for Photonic galleries. The problem is that if I select any lightbox effect from the Photonic generic settings, I get a double lightbox effect – the other plugin creates one as well. If I select None, the other plugin no longer creates lightbox effect either. So either I have a double lightbox effect or none. I don’t know if you can help, but I hope you can understand my problem now.

This is something the author of the other plugin will have to help you with – the code of other plugins is beyond my control.

Umm… no, Photonic creates lightboxes for native galleries, provided you designate them for work with Photonic. This is intentional – Photonic will not try to interfere with regular WP galleries since you might already be using something for them.

All you need to do is add a style parameter to the gallery that tells Photonic that a particular WP gallery should be targeted by it. See the documentation. You can set style='square'.

This would have been simple if I started to use the style attribute for the new galleries I would create. But I have tens or hundreds of old galleries so it’s easier to use a plugin which applies the lightbox effect automatically.

In that case you will have to work with the plugin author for the other plugin to see how to exclude Photonic galleries from its ambit (similar to how Photonic lets you target either all photos, or just its own).
