Native gallery and setting

  • Hi,

    I’m running WP3.6.1 and I’m getting interested in the native WordPress Gallery lately.

    Having a look at his official WP Gallery pages here and here, my problems are :
    – the Type combo doesn’t appear while creating a new gallery
    – in Settings -> Media page, only image size displays, and no Enable carousel, background color, metadata, video player…

    Do I have to install a plugin or are these feature enabled only on wordpress.com?
    Could anyone recommend me then a simple, light and popular plugin to workaround the native, incomplete, gallery feature then?

    Finally and reading other posts this is due because the site is not based on wordpress.com.

    Finally I workaround it installing Simple Lightbox, which is popular, light, simple and efficient

    Let me now correct my previous message :

    The native WordPress gallery is then, by itself, just an incomplete and shitty feature. This is what I really think about it.
