Name of my site is not appearing on Dashboard or site page

I recently opened a self-hosted WordPress blog. As a freelance writer for other bloggers, I’m very familiar with editing, writing, and uploading pics in WordPress, but I’m not at all familiar with site set-up.

I purchased Genesis Framework (Pretty Young Thing theme). Since putting everything together, I’ve discovered that WordPress does not seem to be recognizing the name of my blog. The browser address bar displays it, no problem. But the WordPress dashboard continues to display the default name (My Blog), and my theme will only display the default name in the header, as well. I’d really like to change this, but I’m not sure if this is a problem with my set up in WordPress, or with the Genesis Framework.

Any suggestions or fixes out there?
