Name link linking outside instead connection information details?

    Hi there!
    We were asked if it is possible that the “prefix + Name + Surname” link at connections directory links to somewhere else (another website, outside), instead going to the regular connection information page of that person…

    Is that possible??

    Maybe we can use the “Department” field, adding a link there… and change somewhere in a file, to put that URL stored in “Department” instead the regular connection link?

    PD: this is because this people is using that outside source as a more actualized personal information and such things…

    I do have an addon available that adds an option to each Entry where you can enter a web link, and that link will be used instead of the core Connections Entry permalink. It has never been released officially, which is why the addon page is blank, other than the purchase button.

    A few others are using this addon, and if you decide to purchase it, it will be supported. You would, if needed, open a support ticket in your account on our site for support.

    Oh, that is interesting Steve! thanks for the information…

    One question about the addons on connections… how it works?
    Because this site is one of many (at an university, that has a MU wordpress installed)…
    How are installed this addons? it will work ok on MU wordpress “child” wp accounts?

    (you know, it is like they manage the Main wordpress, installing all the plugins and themes… and then all the departments have one MU WP child of it… selecting what theme/plugins they use etc…)

    On a WPMS install of WordPress, you would install the Connections plugin and its addons as you normally would any other plugin. Except you would not network activate. You would navigate to each subsite where you intend to use Connections and its add-ons and activate it on the subsite.
