• Over the years the yoast plugin has turned into Nagware….

I cant comprehend how annoying it is to use the plugin now.

Mate, when i click on the X to dismiss the search console crawler option, that means DONT TELL ME AGAIN THE NEXT CLICK I MAKE.

No matter how many times you dismiss the message it will return for every click you make. And you cannot turn this off.

Also the plugin warns you about xml sitemap not being activated and your using a competitor plugin. Who cares Yoast, i dont want to use your xml sitemap feature because i get a 404 error page on the xmlsitemap when its visited (this is a known bug btw) so i had no choice but to use the official xml sitemaps plugin.

The plugin is good but ill say it again, its become annoying to use.

Im at the tipping point of moving all clients to another alternative such as AIO SEO…..

I hope they turn these annoying features off in the next up coming versions or else i jump ship.

  • Totally agree!!

Great plugin but just stop with all of the notifications!!

There is actually a way to turn off the nags, but you need to add that to your theme’s functions file or to a functionality plugin.

I have taken the initiative to release a plugin that removes all the nags and other nonsense from the Yoast SEO plugin.

Check out my SO Clean Up Yoast SEO plugin and let me know if that works for you.

    Hi @menkom,

Sorry it’s taken us so long to get back to you. Do you still use our plugin? Did you know you can turn off these messages? Because we’ve made a ton of changes to Yoast SEO.

If you want to learn more about the plugin before installing it, we feel our knowledge base is the best place to start.

    Thanks!
