Having the “nag message” soliciting a rating on ALL admin pages is annoying and inappropriate. It takes up far too much screen real-estate.

If you are going to have a “nag message”, can it be restricted to the “Floating Links” settings page only, please?

Until then, I will be deactivating this otherwise-good plugin.

  • Hello @beardedgit ??

Apologies for inconvenience. There were a small problem with hide notice on “I already rated it” button. That is now fixed and I have released a new version of the plugin.

Please update or download and install it again and it will go away. You can also make it go away by clicking on “I already rated it”.

If you find it useful, then do provide your honest rating here:

Thanks for that, Sajid. I don’t mind a nag message, it was just the admin-wide display of it which was odd.

Anyway, I’ve updated it, reactivated it and tinkered with the padding to get it slotted in between the right sidebar and the vertical scrollbar.

It seems strange that the way it works on mine is that the “Previous post” button links to the next (newer) post, and the “Next post” button links to the previous (older) post. It makes no chronological sense on a blog which has the latest/newest post at the top.

    Hello @beardedgit ??

I can not see this problem on your website. For example, when I am on Observing Report 16th-17th October 2016 (coloured Moon mosaic) post and click on next post link, it takes me to next post that is One edge done. Vice versa, when I click on previous post link.

This is the same order, I see on your category page here.

Make sure you are actually clicking on next/previous post and not on Random Post link.

But look at the order that they actually display on the blog… “One edge done” displays before (earlier than) “Observing Report 16th etc”, and the post after (later than) “Observing Report 16th etc” is “Ferritin downer 2”.

Ultimate case: go to my home page and the latest post (currently “Nobody expects the Spanish Indecision”) is at the top. Click on that post title to open it as a single post. As this is the latest post there is a previous post but there cannot be a next post. Yet the “Previous post” button is inactive, and the “Next post” button links to the previous post (currently “Quantum parcel”).

“This is the same order, I see on your category page here.”

Bear in mind that posts are displayed in reverse-order of date/time published, not reverse-order of date/time created, and also not in reverse-order of the post number (e.g. ####/?p=16399).

In fact, here’s how my current theme’s inbuilt “previous” and “next” links work, they are displayed at the end of each single post:

Here’s what Firefox’s Inspect Element says about your next/prev buttons on my blog:

I don’t see the logic in associating rel=”next” with title=”Previous post”, and associating rel=”prev” with title=”Next post”.

I’ll just go in there and edit the code myself – I’m not willing to have two sets of nav arrows which are at variance with each other.

    Done.
