    Hi @christinajonson,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve run into trouble with Boost.

May I ask where you ran into this issue – was it when you clicked the “Get Started” button while setting up Jetpack Boost?

A “500” error usually indicates that something has crashed on your server. Unfortunately, the only place to get more information about that will be in your server logs.

Most hosting providers give users access to their server logs either through a cPanel interface, or as a file in your FTP or SSH access. Can you please refer to your hosting provider’s documentation for where to find your server logs, and check for an error message?

It may be worth re-attempting the action that failed just before checking your logs, so that you have a fresh error message to look for in there.

If you can’t find your server logs, you may need to contact your hosting provider’s support team for help finding the error.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply

Yes, when I clicked on “Get started” I am facing a 500 error message but it was working fine. Recently we have changed our WordPress Theme and I am trying to activate jetpack. But this time it did not work.

    Hi @christinajonson

Since your Jetpack connection is also not working, the issues could be related.

Can you contact your web host and check to see if they’re blocking or otherwise limiting incoming and outgoing connections over XML-RPC?

Jetpack, and Jetpack Boost, and some other plugins and services use this file to communicate with your site, but some hosts block connection requests to that file.

Let us know what you find out. Thanks!

    Hi @drawmyface

I have checked our server, the server did not block jetpack. However, I had a browser xmlrpc and the result is XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

Also, I have disabled all plugin expected jetpack still does not work with WordPress Default Theme.

    Thank you.

    Hello @christinajonson,

I have just checked again your xmlrpc.php file as I noticed that Jetpack still couldn’t connect, and I found out that the page is currently returning a 403 Forbidden error:

    Screen Shot

I’d suggest circling back to your host again and asking them to check their security logs for any blocked requests to the xmlrpc.php file on your site, using the Jetpack by WordPress.com user agent.

You can also ask them to whitelist the IP addresses listed here:

    https://jetpack.com/support/hosting-faq/#jetpack-whitelist

Hope that helps ?? Let me know how you get on!

    Hi team,

Thank you for your help and time.

Sorry for the late reply. I have fixed this issue by re-installing PHP and install CURL.exe on C drive. Now we are able to use jetpack plugin again.

    Thank you.
