Mystery Spam through gmail inbox

    Hi there,

    I have two CF7 forms on my site, and I have both Akismet and Flamingo installed.

    I’ve been getting a ton of spam emails in my admin gmail spam inbox from bots where the message is lorem ipsum text. These emails say they’re sent on a contact form from my site, but don’t show up on Flamingo as being submitted on either form.

    When I send a test response through the contact form they appear in Flamingo and also in the gmailspam inbox

    Any idea where these emails are coming from and how I can get Akismet to filter them?

  • I use WP Armour plugin (free version) and the spam stops.

    You can give it a try and see if it works for you.

    These emails say they’re sent on a contact form from my site, but don’t show up on Flamingo as being submitted on either form.

    If this is true, there is no doubt those email are not what sent from a Contact Form 7 form on the site. Probably spoofed email.
