Mysterious Ads Appearing

  • I created this website and everything was working fine, but then some friends started saying that they were seeing ads the page…. and there shouldn’t be ads! That’s just not cool. I’ve never seen them on the page though – loged in or not. Tried multiple browsers, private/incognito. And can’t see anything.

    I read on some forums that some plugins can cause ads to appear, but most of the plugins I’ve used for years without issue until now.

    Currently I have installed:

      Insert Headers and Footers (to add Google Analytics)
      Uncode Core (theme)
      Uncode Page Builder (theme)
      WP Downgrade (because the theme version I have breaks on the newer WP)
      WP Post page clone (’cause I’m lazy)
      WPBakery Page Builder (Visual Composer) Clipboard (Again, lazy)
      Yoast SEO (’cause SEO is always nice)

    Having the same problem on a very similarly built site https://www.chrisleclerc.com

  • The first place to look would be that theme and its associated plugins… That theme is a commercial theme so you’ll need to contact the author if they are still around.

    there are no ads. If you can’t see them (without an ADblock) then there aren’t any.
    the issue is on your friends computers.
