MySQLi for WordPress 2.1.x
-
With regards to a number of posts here in the forums about getting WordPress to work with MySQLi instead of the standard MySQL php extension, I’ve created a db.php file that can be used to let users use MySQLi instead.
You can use MySQLi for WordPress to add a db.php file to /wp-content/ that switches WordPress to use MySQLi. MySQLi doesn’t really offer much of a SQL-side performance benefit, but it is lighter on PHP/Apache.
I’ve tested this WordPress extension with over 50 plugins, and it works great.
