mysql_real_escape_string deprecated in PHP 7

    (Sorry – in the title I said mysql_real_escape_string deprecated in PHP 7, but it should have said “does not exist”. It was deprecated in PHP 5.5.)

    Please update this so it can be used with current versions of PHP that WordPress supports.
