MySql limit exceeded twice in 24 hrs

I’m running a blog on a localhost and twice in 1 day MySql has exceeded its limits. The culprit seems to be wp_options which has hit GBs in hours. What is causing this and how do I stop it from bloating? My website is small scale and I haven’t made any changes to it in the last 24 hrs.
My host can fix the problem at their end, but I have to keep raising tickets.
