MySQL installation problems

  • https://ltfc.ie/ is the website I’m working on. I’m getting the following message…

    Insufficient Requirements
    You cannot install because WordPress 3.3 requires MySQL version 5.0 or higher. You are running version 4.1.22.

    What does this actually mean? I’ve asked the host but just wondering do I need to upgrade? Or does the host?

  • If you are using a normal host, then it is up to them. The only time you’d have to upgrade it yourself is if you have your own server that you manage. But most hosting takes care of all that for you.

    That’s fantastic, cheers for the quick response. I’m using Blacknight, they’re fairly well known.. I don’t have my own server so hoping the host will take care of that.
