Hi, for the third time the sql database server has failed at my host godaddy. This time it is so bad that I can’t access admin or anything else.

Has anyone else experienced this and what help can offer the host in resolving this.

    My website is https://mgx.com

    Thank you,

    OK.

    1. youre not hacked. You posted to another thread with that topic, so I dont know where you’re going .. but thats not where you ought to be.

Second, youre new to this, and thats okay — but if you want us to be able to help you — you need to be more descriptive.

for the third time the sql database server has failed at my host godaddy

Thats not enough. There are multiple answers to that question because its vague.

Were the tables dropped? Was the database deleted? Was the database corrupted? Did MySQL crash? Were there connection problems? Was MySQL stopped and not restarted?

See where I’m going. What you described, could be a host problem. Might not be — we wont know without more info.

Here’s a question: Did you get asked to re-install wordpress after you had a previously working blog?

^^ If so, this is another good example of info that it helps for us to know. The more you tell, the more we can help.

If it is problem with your host, then you can’t do anything, other than asking them to resolve it or change your host.

I too all of a sudden cannot access the new WordPress blog setup. Was working fine last night when I set it up and this morning I cannot enter either the admin area or the WordPress site itself. It comes up with an error that only says DNS. I even went so far as to completely uninstall WordPress and reinstall and I am getting the same exact thing as stated above with the brand new fresh install. I have checked the MySQL database and it seems to be functioning properly, I see nothing amiss with it at all. The last thing that I did to the Blog was to add a plug-in named “add to anny subscribe”. Since I completely uninstalled WordPress from all of my directories, and double checked to make sure both the database and all related files were deleted, I do not attribute the problem to the plug-in, though I could very well be mistaken, but I should think a brand new fresh install would work… I am at a loss and I am not yet familiar with the quirks of WordPress to evaluate and fix, if this is even a problem I can fix myself… And no, I am not hosted with GoDaddy, I am hosted with another hosting service, though this should not make a difference I should think.

Thank you, I am not the member who thought they were hacked. The host has conceded that the problem lies with them I am just confused that other users, using different hosts appear to be having identical problems… for example, visitors were thrown to a install new blog page.

So, while the host agrees that the database has corrupted through some internal problem, why are other users with separate hosts experiencing this same problem?

My blog has been functional for several years now and I have successfully upgraded periodically to the latest versions. Presently I am using 2.6 (upgraded two weeks ago) and it was working well until this morning.

That is just too strange. I have no problems at all with any other of my MySQL databases, and some of them have been operating for years, and the check system says it is functioning properly, not to mention it is a brand new fresh install so how can it be corrupted. And not only 1 but 2 installs that would not work. I just installed the first one yesterday… it just does not make sense that it would be a host problem if they are two completely different host servers

furthermore, I just checked the darn thing for the umpteenth time and it is now functioning. I am reticent on setting up this brand new one with hours of work and having the same thing happen again. I would really like to know first what is going on before I spend hours resetting it up again.

Spiritfoxy, you should have started your own topic because what you described

It comes up with an error that only says DNS.

has nothing to do with the OP.

As for magix111, man made things are just like that: not perfect and sometimes they just break.
When a WP blog displays the install page instead of the posts – it IS a host issue, more exactly a corrupted wp_option table in the database that needs to be repaired.

And again, no the two issues are NOT identical. Period. So, stop rambling about it.

And as a general note: WP is not Windows… so uninstalling and reinstalling never solves anything.

I profusely apologize, this is my first post to this forum and I am sorry I posted in the wrong place. My apologies once again, I will not take up any more of your time with my ramblings. Thank you ever so much for the wonderful kind and helpful support in resolving my issue, regardless of where I posted it. Have a nice day.

The logical answer to that is they we do know if they are experiencing identical problems, They’re experiencing, in some cases, identical symptoms.

magix111, Thats the way things go. WordPress relies on other stuff to work — that stuff relies on all kinds of other stuff — and the hardware — and the host — and the bandwidth — and the infrastructure —

    Sometimes stuff just breaks.

It does seem quite odd that multiple people are experiencing the same or similar problems.

However, this is not the first time mysql server connections with the blog have failed, just never this catastrophically and by demanding a new install…

Further, I use the index.php to direct to a subdirectory – even that connection appears to be lost instead trying to call the blog in the root directory

Not really. And not if you consider the adverse. ??

The reason the symptoms are all the same is because everyone here is using the same software.

Thats why someone can say “im seeing this” and I can already know the answer having seen that question before.

well, thank you for the, uh, help
