I’m attempting to set up a new WordPress site. I previously had a WordPress site installed on the domain mikehuffmusic.com. I deleted all of those files via ftp and emptied the database tables via mySql.

Now I have uploaded a fresh WordPress folder via ftp, but I am getting the message that it cannot be installed due to the wp_commentmeta table being in need of repair. The WordPress repair function did not help.

This is the message I am getting:

    wp_commentmeta: Table ‘mikehuffmusic_c.wp_commentmeta’ doesn’t exist

Can anyone advise on what I should do next?

  • I would delete all of the existing tables of the database. If they are empty this own’t hurt as they’ll be created when you do your install. That way you will be sure that the tables are all the way they should be.

Thanks so much Michael, that worked.
