• Hello guys,

I would like to upload a latest version of WP (3.2.1).
According to www.remarpro.com, requirements for this latest version are:

MySQL version 5.2.4 or greater and PHP version 5.0 or greater.

My website host has PHP 5.2.17 which is good, but MySQL only 5.0.91.

He says that he uses new WP with this MySQL 5.0.91 version on his own website
with no problem and that I can go ahead and upload latest WP. But I don’t want to do that before I am 100% sure that there will be no issues.

    So the question is:

Will latest WP 3.2.1. run with no problem using MySQL 5.0.91 version?

Thanks so much for your input.

  • Actually, I think you might have the info reversed, so it looks like you will probably be okay. ??

MySQL version 5.2.4 or greater and PHP version 5.0 or greater.

WordPress server requirements for Version 3.2:

    PHP version 5.2.4 or greater
    MySQL version 5.0.15 or greater

My website host has PHP 5.2.17 which is good, but MySQL only 5.0.91.

    Hello Clayton,

OH My, you are right, I have the info reversed. But in that case, PHP is now outdated.
My host is using 5.2.17 and WP requirement is 5.2.4.

    Could that create any issues?

    Thanks again for your support.

It might seem that way at first glance, but php version 5.2.17 is actually newer than version 5.2.4, so you’re still going to be okay.

    5.2.4 Released: 30 August 2007

    5.2.17 Released ~ 06 January 2011
