• Okay, so my boss gave me a new install to work with (tweak the theme, etc.) and I noticed that there’s no WYSIWYG editor when viewing an article in Visual (in HTML, I have an editor, but it’s the basic one and doesn’t help me too much).

I have taken the following steps:

    • Re-installed WordPress
    • Read through the WP forums and reviewed my User Profile (it’s as it should be)
    • Asked my senior colleagues to take a look
    • Asked a senior PHP developer, who asked me to do re-install WP again
    • Posted this conundrum on here and pray that you will find a solution

If you can assist, it would be very much appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Jaymes

  • Do you have any plugins installed? If so, try deactivating them temporarily to see if that’s your issue. You could also switch back to the TwentyEleven theme just to make sure it’s not an issue with your theme.

Also, when you re-installed WordPress, did you re-install using the automatic installer under Dashboard > Updates > Re-install now, or did you re-upload the files via FTP? You might try the built in installer just to make sure everything’s installed correctly.

    Hi Micah,

I do have plugins installed. I deactivated them all and still got no editor. I’ve even switched back to the TwentyEleven (and TwentyTen) theme and still nothing ??

    I re-installed WordPress using FileZilla.

This is one of the strangest errors I have ever come across whilst using WordPress.

    Regards,
    Jaymes
