• Hi, I have an LMS based woocommerce website hosted in AWS ec2 t2.micro instance. It keeps going down every 5-6 hrs. Also, the DNS settings are done in Cloudflare and getting the cloudflare 524 error after it gets down.

Please help me finding the solution

  • You’re going to get the error from Cloudflare if the server goes down… that’s as it should be as Cloudflare wants to check the file quickly before sending it to the visitor and, if the server is down, then it can’t do that.

You need to touch base with AWS or peruse the server logs to find out what is going on there that causes the server to die.

Sometimes, with a marginal server, you’ll get 500 type errors from Cloudflare due to the server just being way to slow to feed Cloudflare. You can turn off the Cloudflare proxy by going into Cloudflare’s DNS and clicking the orange cloud to gray… You’ll still be using Cloudflare’s excellent DNS server but you will have exposed your IP address as it was before Cloudflare stepped in.

The correct fix for that is to upgrade your server plan at your host. The secondary fix for that may be the commercial upgraded Cloudflare plan but you need the server to keep up first. Else, that’s just a compromise and will never perform to capacity.
