  • I assume that there is a link on the https://www.example.com/post-url/ page that links to www.example.com without specifying the necessary protocol. So like this: https://www.example.com. You have to find the link in your page and adapt it. A link to your page could help to find it.

    If your WP installation is auto-generating erroneous URLs, it’s likely due to an inadvertent error in a plugin or your theme. But if the bad URLs were manually added to a post or page, then they’d have to be manually corrected; or corrected with an appropriate search and replace plugin.

    If you have bad auto-generated URLs, isolate the cause by deactivating all plugins and switching to a default Twenty* theme. Be sure caching is not confusing your investigation. Flush or disable any caching both client and server side. With no plugins and a default theme your URLs should all be correct. Find the culprit by restoring your normal theme and plugins, one at a time. When the problem recurs, the last activated module is the cause.
