My wordpress has completely stopped working

the origianl errors was because i had two urls in the samebox wordpress was trying to find this
https://www.marleybutler.co.ukhttps://marleystarskeybutler.co.uk ect
i understood this error as this was what i put in the url

now it doesnt come up as that anymore it actually tries to use use https://www.marleybutler.co.uk but comes up blank

I am having the exact same problem. I tried to change the url and now I’m not able to log in at all to change it back. Very frustrating. I have dreamhost as my ftp. Contacting them to see if they can help me figure it out…

Start with these recovery methods: Changing The Site URL ? WordPress Codex

Try to connect to the database and look around in the options table ( ‘wp_options’ ). Replace every non-correct URL in de options ( like home etc ) with the correct URL . Kill your cookies and try again to log in.

Not a good idea to mess around in the database just yet. Start with the easier and more fool proof methods at Changing The Site URL ? WordPress Codex.

Thabkyou, those were the methods i used which made it worse in the end because now all my screens are plain white, i cant even get the screen to log in. and all the changes i made using that link i took out all the added code to try and take a few steps back but without any luck.

where is this options table?when you say connect to databasw do you mean ftp?i cant find options in there

Look at the same link above. It gives instructions to change URLs in your database, but you need to use PHPMyAdmin, not FTP. Ask your host if PHPMyAdmin is installed, or look in your Cpanel, Plesk, etc.

thankyou, i did the whole admin php and got quite exited when i found my url error under the options , i changed this back to https://www.marleybutler.co.uk but its still blank white and so is my log in page so i cant attempt a log in,

which is frustrating because it seems i have done something via ftp to cause this and if i did the admin thing first it would have been ok

any other thoughts?

It sounds like you’ve got the same problem as I have – you don’t use Yahoo, do you?

no i dont i use hotmail/messenger , the whole url thing is fine now i think, i just dont undertsnad why everything’s just white blank pages!is the blank pages your problem as well?

Yahoo has nothing to do with it.

@marleybutler: Did you delete or move wordpress files when you were using FTP? Check with FTP that your wordpress files and directories are in root.

no all i did was do those little edits and then delete the edits, maybe i did something by accident. what do you mean by in root?everything looks the same, and i always use ftp so i gues that means they are?

yaaay i fixed it!it was one of the edits i did!i didnt put it back exactly how it was, i found this out by comparing the functions page under my theme to the functions page under the defualt theme and notices a few charachter differences on the top line!deleted these and now im back ??

actually as im here , i just purchased https://www.marleystarskeybutler.co.uk and i would like it to point to https://www.marleybutler.co.uk too so i have two domain names pointing to the one site, is this possible?

Glad you got it to work. Easiest way is to forward that domain with your domain registrar.
